Cookie policy
Legal
This policy explains how STR Disputes ("we", "us") uses cookies and similar technologies on strdisputes.com. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device. We also use analogous technologies (e.g. local storage for a consent record, pixels, and SDKs loaded only after you opt in). They help the site function, remember settings, measure performance, and—if you consent—support marketing measurement.
How we obtain consent
On your first visit, we show a cookie banner. Non-essential tags (including Google Tag Manager and optional pixels) do not load until you make a choice. You can accept all, reject non-essential categories, or customise. Necessary cookies are always active because they are required to operate the service securely.
You can reopen Cookie settings at any time from the site footer to change or withdraw consent. Changes take effect immediately for Consent Mode and for scripts we control; some third parties may rely on their own refresh cycles.
Categories we use
- Necessary — Security, core navigation, consent storage, and similar functions strictly required to deliver the site.
- Analytics — Aggregated usage data to improve content and performance (e.g. Google Analytics loaded through Google Tag Manager when allowed).
- Marketing — Advertising and social measurement tags (e.g. Meta Pixel, LinkedIn Insight Tag) only when you opt in.
- Preferences — Remembers choices you make (e.g. UI or region). Optional UX tools such as Hotjar may fall here or under Analytics depending on configuration; only load when you enable the relevant category.
Retention
Your consent choices are stored locally (and a small first-party cookie flag) for up to 180 days, after which we may ask you to choose again. Individual third-party cookies have their own lifetimes as described in their policies.
Google Tag Manager & Consent Mode
Where Analytics or Marketing is enabled, we may load Google Tag Manager. We implement Google Consent Mode so that Google tags receive up-to-date consent signals. Tags configured to respect Consent Mode will not read or write advertising/analytics storage when you have denied the relevant category.
California residents (CCPA-style notice)
We do not sell personal information in the traditional sense. Some analytics or advertising technologies may constitute "sharing" for cross-context behavioural advertising under California law when enabled. You can use Reject non-essential or Cookie settings to turn off the Marketing and Analytics categories. For other rights (access, deletion, etc.), see our Privacy Policy and contact us via Contact.
Updates
We may update this policy when our use of cookies changes. Material changes will be reflected on this page; we may prompt you to renew consent where required.
